How I rescue projects
Every software project is unique - why and how it was created.
1. Bringing order to requirements
Before I even take a look at the software or the source code, it's important to find out which tasks are solved by the existing software and where it's currently failing. To do this, I talk to all stakeholders and map out the history of the project's development. At the end of this step, there is a technical priority list that records which problems must be addressed first.
2. Stabilizing the application
Only now do I take a look at the source code of your software project. Supported by extensive, AI-supported tooling as well as my many years of experience in implementing software projects, I localize the sources of your acute problems and can quickly provide a solution.
3. Putting your project on a solid foundation
After the function of your processes has been restored, the final step is to address the fundamental problems of your codebase. The goal of this step is to restore the speed of development you're used to from the past while simultaneously installing guardrails that protect existing functionality from unexpected regressions. To do this, I draw from an extensive toolbox: the introduction/revision of Continuous Integration pipelines, code quality tools, agentic guardrails, or even conducting training sessions can be part of this step.
